Autumn has to be one of the best times of year for really great food. Sure, spring berries and summer corn are delicious, but rich fall treats are so comforting and nourishing as the weather grows cold and the air turns crisp. Recently, my local farmer’s market has been overflowing with incredible offerings: bartlett pears, crisp persimmons, lots of brussels sprouts, and butternut squash, to name a few. Throw in some pumpkin and a few wild mushrooms and you’ve got a veritable fall feast. This is a busy season of life, but I’m trying to make time to enjoy good meals with friends and family. So here’s to homemade pumpkin pie, warm spiced cider enjoyed in front of the fire, and a delicious Thanksgiving dinner. I hope these recipes inspire some yummy autumn meals in your home – I know that they are in mine!
