Recipe Inspiration: Christmas Cookies

For a bake-aholic like me, December is one of the very best times of the year! I’ve been dreaming in peppermint, dark chocolate, and spicy ginger for months now, so I can’t wait to start making Christmas cookies. Holiday baking has always been a really important tradition for my family. In fact, it’s probably my favorite festive activity for the season. Ever since I was very little, we would gather in the kitchen – first around my Grandma, then my mom and aunt took over – to make traditional Hungarian treats and our favorite cookie recipes. Crunchy anise biscotti, nutty crescent cookies dusted in powdered sugar, and rich chocolate rounds were made by the dozen to be enjoyed at Christmas dinner (and often, for months to come). Here are a few new holiday treats that have caught my eye this year. Perhaps I’ll add one or two to the rotation, along with our traditional family favorites.
